András Forgách: The Boy

Synopsis

An elderly couple arrives to the upland hostel in an unusual time, just before Christmas. Strangely they aren’t celebrating the holidays with any other members of the family; they are the only guests around. Their conversations are rather fights – one of the last strives of a whole life spent together.Later the local pastor shows up, followed by the boy and the policemen looking for him. The plot unfolds the fate of three characters – the elderly lady, the pastor and the boy – forged together in a tragical moment. András Forgách, – writer, dramaturge, holder of Jászai Mari Award – an author with great theatrical experience, has put on stage numerous award-winning, successful plays, adaptations.He often happens to direct his pieces himself, just like this time at Szigligeti Theater, debuting The Boy.
