Synopsis

Bukkfa_plakat_webThe village is making preparations for the wedding of beautiful virgin, Miss Seven Villages Bükkfaszéki Márika. Her greedy mother, Örzse the fishmonger has offered her daughter's hand to a rich wonder doctor Pandulf. At the berothal ceremony appears Djabolán, the young and charming traveling actor who intends to seduce Márika. The girl is rather lenient to the secret liaison, but in the meanwhile Pandulf's busybody servant, Kis Mihók finds out that the young actor is the devil himself who came to seduce Márika with sinful lechery, and send her to hell...

The performance alludes to two genres that precede the tradition of the modern play, namely commedia dell'arte and mystery plays. The Transylvanian Rolling Theatre takes its performance to villages, and organizes open air performances.
