The Works of Szilárd Borbély on Stage

How do the works of the author, who deceased last year, perform on stage? What strategies can the theatrical artists follow when they approach the literary pieces of the Borbély-oeuvre that are difficult to interpret, both for the stage and the audience? Is the theatre accountable for the promotion of contemporary writers? − These are just a few examples of the talking points for the meeting centered around the ”theatrical texts” of Szilárd Borbély. The purpose of this round-table talk is not the in-depth analysis of theatrical performances or the professional evaluation of his literary works. It is ”only” intended as a personal dialogue between the representatives of theatre and literature, as an opportunity for sharing thoughts on the potentialities and features of Borbély’s complex and challenging works on the stage.
